About us

Oxshott Guiding and Scouting has been in our community for over 100 years giving the young people in Oxshott a safe space to make friends, learn new skills and have fun and adventures.

After years of our volunteers fundraising and writing countless rejected grant applications , finally in 2023, Oxshott Girlguiding & Scouting were awarded funding by Your Fund Surrey from Surrey County Council and a grant from Elmbridge Borough Council to replace their previous dilapidated, timber building with a brand new Community Hub.

The new Oxshott Community Hub replaces a gifted timber building from 1968  that was no longer watertight,  subsiding at one end, had no insulation and had an ineffective heating system.

The new building has a low impact on the environment as was possible within budget,  low energy lighting, proper insulation throughout, and double glazing.

The Hub is fully accessible and has accessible toilet facilities as well as a baby change station, which were lacking in the previous structure.  It has a modern, fitted kitchen with ample storage plus an additional utility room alongside 2 large halls as well as a meeting room/small hall.

The Oxshott Community Hub is a fantastic addition to the wider community and the new home for Oxshott Girlguiding and Scouting for hopefully another 100 years!
